Care worker for Breastfeeding Peer Support

Job Description

For our Runcorn based client we are currently looking for a Health Improvement Breastfeeding Supporter.

The role involves:

• Coordination of appointments for clinics, consultation services and supporting the delivery of Health Improvement Training programmes
• Providing support to mothers in the early days of breastfeeding and beyond including offering of home visits, peer support group sessions and telephone support
• Engagement with new mothers on postnatal wards offering support and information, liaising with maternity staff and introducing the peer support service
• Guarantee adequate levels of stock of information, handouts etc. are available
• Guarantee all equipment kept centrally is kept clean and in good order and report all problems promptly to the infant feeding co-ordinator

Please apply if you have:

• NVQ Level 3 in Care or equivalent
• Training in Breastfeeding Management desirable
• Knowledge of the benefits of breastfeeding
• Experience of Breastfeeding Peer Support Work
• Experience of giving information on a one to one or in a group setting
• IT skills for using a data base for recording information
