Job Description

For our Chelmsford based client we are currently looking for an experienced Category Manager to support the delivery of OJEU level procurements for at least 3 - 6 months.

The role involves to:

  • manage directly allocated ICT contract procurements.
  • provide supervision to the Assistant Category Managers.
  • undertake ICT category related procurement activities including market development, tendering, implementation, and monitoring of procurement contracts.
  • monitor the over-arching ICT market, and key market suppliers in terms of performance and stability, highlighting and tracking risks where appropriate.
  • undertake contractual and commercial negotiations on the ICT category.
  • provide procurement, commercial and legal advice to relevant stakeholder teams.
  • maintain visibility to the relevant key stakeholders and gain their trust and support.
  • manage re-licencing of ITC products and services.

 

Please apply if you:

  • have at least 5 years’ experience in category management.
  • can demonstrate good experience of procurement and contract management across the ICT category.
  • have worked as a leading Procurement professional in the area of ICT Services for a complex, public sector organisation.
  • have good knowledge and understanding of contract law and the application of EU Public Procurement Regulations and legislation.
  • are able to develop specifications, prepare and evaluate tenders, including those operating under framework arrangements and EU directives.
  • have experience of supervising staff, preferably within a collaborative environment across a number of locations.
  • have a broad, high-level technical understanding of ICT products and services to assist in gaining the confidence of ICT stakeholders/suppliers.
  • have a valid drivers license and your own transport.
  • are able to hit the ground running with minimal support.
  • are able to work out of any of the client's ocations; namely Chelmsford (Essex ), Northfleet (Kent) or Martlesham (Suffolk), or Royston (Herts).
  • are willing and able to complete the vetting process.
