Job Description

Our client, a leading charity in West London is seeking a pro-active and ambitious Information Security Analyst. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who likes autonomy and variety in their job as no one day is the same! It is in a challenging environment with many different stakeholders to manage and many interesting projects to work on; there is a strong buy in from board level and middle-management as well as support from a strong tech team.

Responsibilities of the Information Security Analyst:

  • To assist the Information Security Manager in managing the security of the information assets within the organisation; including creation, transfer, handling, storage, and disposal.
  • Support the delivery of the information security strategy and projects (end point encryption, protection, mobile device security and many more!)
  • Conduct stakeholder meetings and presentations
  • Further raising awareness of information security amongst colleagues, reducing the company's exposure to cybersecurity risks

The most important skills required for the Information Security Analyst are:

  • Some experience and background in infrastructure and networking security
  • The ability to communicate well both written and verbally
  • Understanding of penetration testing, vulnerability testing and remediation
  • Understanding of risk management and maintaining the risk register
  • Understanding of incident management
  • Relevant understanding of information and/or cyber security and the ability to apply this to a number of business processes
  • The ability to proactively drive action and projects forward
It would be really great if you had:
  • Experience of the Qualys security tool
  • Experience of running pen testing, vulnerability testing or tracking incident to remediation
  • Ethical hacking qualification (CEH)
  • CISM or any other relevant qualification
The most important skill required for being successful in this role is to have a pragmatic approach to information security as well as a strong ability to communicate and build relationships with a variety of different stakeholders.

This is a 3-5 years programme minimum so there is a big opportunity to learn and work on the areas you wish to develop to further your experience and career. There is a buy in for Information Security at board level which means there is a lot of support for courses and learning and development.
