A Network Engineer is required for one of the world’s largest global executive search firms, established in the market for over 50 years! Working across a wide variety of industries as well as geographic locations (over 55 offices worldwide, across 29 countries) makes this Network Engineer role varied with an environment that is meritocratic and collaborative where you will receive support, training and a focus on career development.
Joining a team of two the Network Engineer role is technically orientated and challenging as the Infrastructure team services the technical maintenance of the network across the globe (500/600 people) working in the prestigious City of London head office. There are a number of interesting projects in the pipeline such as moving the APAC region (100 users) under the same domain and network. The role also involves working closely with the Canadian/US and German offices which takes the user count up to 900 people on the network. There are smaller satellite offices who have their own independent setups but eventually there will be a plan to bring them in under the same infrastructure. They are currently running office 365 which has been in place for four years and now they are looking to bring everyone together under the Azure domain (one domain) and put a new CRM Salesforce system and unified communications platform in place. They run things light in the department, there are rarely any outages or emergencies. To summarise, this Network Engineer role is general support but with a lot of project work; there is no focus on helpdesk issues unless tasks are escalated from helpdesk which require deeper investigation.
