A totally unique immersive experience brand that has taken the world by storm is looking for a Lead Ruby on Rails developer with JavaScript experience to take over their tech team and along with the CEO drive the company’s tech vision forward! This is an amazing opportunity for someone who is keen to make architectural decisions, appreciates working directly with the CEO of a growing business and also a hands off approach with no red tape. This is also a great opportunity for someone who would like to become the company's new CTO as this role is the pathway.

Are you a Ruby on Rails developer with:

  • production experience working with Ruby on Rails;
  • experience working with any JavaScript language (React would be ideal);
  • the ability to rapidly prototype and test concepts;
  • experience with legacy code as well as greenfield projects;
  • experience with continuous delivery and infrastructure;
  • an agile way of working (scrum or Kanban or a blend of the two!);

What’s in it for you:

  • Fully remote working with reasonable hours (i.e. no weekend work and no finishes past 4.30pm);
  • 28 days holidays + bank holidays off;
  • Exclusive discounts at over 30,000 brands. Also earn reward points as you shop or cash them in for money;
  • Enjoy up to 55% off cinema tickets. Massive savings on tickets at Cineworld, Odeon, Picture House, Showcase, and Vue cinemas across the UK;
  • Share your discounts/deals with up to 10 people amongst your friends and family!

The role involves:

  • to lead the existing team (and grow it in the future) and provide agile coaching as well as direction on new ideas and projects that come in from the CEO;
  • to work on the existing codebase that powers the current e-commerce site and the systems in the physical immersive experience locations;

If you are a Ruby on Rails developer please apply if:

  • you are comfortable leading a small team wearing multiple hats i.e. product discovery, analysis, and development, as well as being able to support the existing product in the US.
  • you are able to take ownership of the architecture of the current solutions, infrastructure, maintaining and reviewing them for scaling and changing practices.
  • you wish to shape the culture of an engineering team, setting standards and practices and maintaining the collaborative environment.
  • you desire to lead, mentor and coach a team.

If you like the sound of this amazing opportunity please reply to this advert and we will get back to you within 24 hours!
