Job Description

We are on the hunt for an experienced Sous Chef to join a 2AA Rosette kitchen within a Boutique Country House Hotel in the heart of Gloucestershire. The hotel has two kitchens; one that produces a modern gastro style menu for the Bar and Lounge, the other serves their Restaurant which has been awarded two AA Rosettes.  Both kitchens are under the direction of the Head Chef.  The kitchens are run to his impeccable standards producing seasonal menus using fresh, quality ingredients. The main kitchen is also responsible for the catering of the many weddings that the venue is busy with all year round. There is possible career progression within this small group of hotels for the right candidate as they want their future Head Chefs to come from within their own kitchens.

The Role:

  • Deputise in the absence of the Head Chef
  • Helping the Head Chef create and write seasonal menus
  • Maintaining a safe and hygienic kitchen environment
  • Using fresh local produce to create quality food at 2AA Rosette level

The Candidate:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen
  • Previous experience as a Sous Chef necessary 
  • A strong willingness to improve
  • Ability to delegate jobs accordingly
