Job Description

For our London based client we are currently looking for an experienced Youth Offending Service Case Manager to start asap.

The role is for an initial 2 months but likely to be extended for the right candidate.
Please apply if you have:
  • Current or very recent YOS experience 
  • A General Social Care Council (GSCC) registered Social Work qualification or a relevant professional qualification recognised by any of the Youth Offending Service’s five partner agencies (police, probation, health, education or social services) as outlined in the Crime and Disorder Act 1998)
  • Experience of managing a caseload of both statutory and non-statutory cases (i.e. Referral Orders, YRO, DTO, OOCD), completing assessments, delivering innovative and creative interventions, writing reports and liaising with professional networks. 
  • Experience of working with young people of diverse backgrounds and ability to also engage their families and carers 
  • Experience of supporting young people to develop their personal and social skills to support their participation and contribution to their communities 
  • Experience of using Asset Plus; writing Pre-Sentence Reports for Youth and Crown Courts, making assessments of risk of serious harm and safety and wellbeing 
  • The ability to manage a high caseload and working to tight deadlines 
  • Experience of working with a number of partner agencies including Courts, Police, Community providers, CAMHS, Connexions and using these networks to achieve positive outcomes for young people 
  • Experience of attending and contributing to strategy, professionals and other network meeting, representing the YOS and the best interests of the young people 
  • The availability to occasionally work outside normal 9-5 office hours to complete home visits or attend Referral Order Panel meetings 
  • Experience of managing ISS cases
